    Hi All,
I am looking for best practices and situations where full port and regular port valves are applied in the oil/gas industry?
I do know that FP valves cost more than RP.
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Avinash.

I use FP for piggable lines, instances where I am close to a flow meter, or need sampling points for coupon holders.

I use reduced port valves in manifolds and in short sections of pipeline that are cheaper to replace than to pig.

Also pay attention to the material choice of the body, stem, ball, and seat material.  Make sure your materials are optimum for the fluid service and temperature.

I am an Egyptian engineer working in Saudi Armco. I have got more than 15 years of experience when it comes to full port and regular port valves. I am happy to point out that the information provided by vmeraz is accurate. FP vales are used for piggable lines while RP valves are used for manifolds. But this is the first time I am hearing that FB valves can be used for upstream and downstream of pSVs. I really wonder how it is possible.
